Queen of Water Plot

Many years ago, a sorceress named Veya served at the Royal Academy of Magic, where she developed a rejuvenation spell. Eager to share her discovery, she confided in a friend, only to be betrayed. The friend stole the magical formula and presented it to the academy council as her own creation.

When Veya learned of the treachery, she tried to reclaim her rights to the spell, but her efforts were in vain. Everyone saw her as a thief trying to steal the work of a more successful colleague. The magical formula was handed over to the court wizard, who presented it to the king. After using the spell and regaining his youth, the king rewarded the “creator” of the miraculous magic.

While Veya was entangled in court battles to prove her authorship, her deceitful friend amassed wealth and power—acquiring a castle, lands, servants, and even a small army. Each time, the friend bribed the judges, and Veya consistently lost her cases. With every hearing, Veya’s reputation worsened. She was labeled a jealous failure, slandering a talented sorceress. No one suspected who the real genius was or who the conniving fraud deserving of disgrace truly was.

Eventually, Veya was expelled from the academy and blacklisted everywhere. She retreated to the forest to practice magic in solitude, plotting how to achieve justice. Meanwhile, her treacherous friend, learning of Veya’s reclusion, decided to eliminate her once and for all—fearing the truth might one day come to light.

Hired assassins quickly located the disgraced sorceress. They captured her, stuffed her into a sack, and threw her off a cliff into the sea, hoping to kill her without dirtying their hands. But they underestimated Veya!

Thanks to her magic, Veya survived—she could breathe underwater as if she had gills. Soon, small predatory fish swarmed the sack, mistaking it for prey. They tore through the fabric, freeing the sorceress. Veya enchanted the fish, turning them into loyal servants who became her steadfast guardians.

Using her powers, Veya took control of the underwater realm, transforming the ocean depths into her kingdom. Her subjects crafted a crown for her and declared her their queen. Everything beneath the waves belonged to Veya, including the vast treasures hidden in the holds of sunken ships.

Of course, many adventurers roamed the earth, eager to dive deep in search of riches. But Veya, embittered by betrayal, came to hate all humans. Declaring herself the Queen of Water, she ordered her sea creatures to attack any human attempting to plunder her treasures. The smaller subjects were instructed to call their larger kin whenever they encountered an intruder in the underwater world.

Veya is fabulously wealthy, but she has no intention of sharing her riches. However, perhaps you could mend her relationship with humanity and convince her that not all people are traitorous and greedy. If you manage to restore the Queen of Water’s faith in humankind, she might let you leave her underwater domain with some of the gold and diamonds lying in the holds of a sunken ship!
